Southeast Sulawesi Kadin Rapimprov 2025 Highlights MBG Program for Grassroots Economy and Buton Asphalt Development

Kendari - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) hosted the 2025 Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov) at Claro Hotel Kendari on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Chairman of the Indonesian Kadin, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, expressed his deep appreciation for the successful organization of the 2025 Southeast Sulawesi Rapimprov.

According to Anindya, affectionately known as Anin, this year’s Rapimprov was particularly special due to the presence of Indonesia’s Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, signifying the central government's strong support for Kadin’s role in regional economic development.

“This year’s Rapimprov in Southeast Sulawesi is exceptional. The presence of the Minister of Home Affairs proves that the government is genuinely committed to supporting Kadin’s role especially in Southeast Sulawesi, a province with vast potential,” said Anin.

Anin emphasized that Southeast Sulawesi possesses abundant natural resources from mining and tourism to agriculture that, if optimally managed, could become a key driver of the national economy.

During his speech, Anin also highlighted the four strategic pillars of Kadin Indonesia in promoting sustainable economic growth: supporting food self-sufficiency, stimulating economic development, achieving inclusive growth, and ensuring sustainability for future generations.

“Kadin is here not just to drive today’s economic growth, but also to ensure sustainable development for the future,” Anin stated firmly.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Kadin, Anton Timbang, stated that this year’s Rapimprov focuses on two main priority programs: the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Gotong Royong Program and the utilization of Buton Asphalt.

Anton explained that the MBG program is a people-centered initiative aimed at improving community welfare by strengthening community-based enterprises and leveraging local potential.

“I truly believe that if this scheme is implemented properly, its impact will be directly felt by the people. The MBG program reflects Kadin Southeast Sulawesi’s commitment to driving a people-based economy,” Anton said.

The second key issue discussed was the optimization of Buton Asphalt, which Anton views as a major untapped resource in the province, with great potential to support both regional and national infrastructure development.

“The utilization of Buton Asphalt is backed by comprehensive policies, including Presidential Regulations, Ministry of Public Works and Housing regulations, Ministry of Home Affairs regulations, and a Gubernatorial Decree. This is a golden opportunity for us to position Southeast Sulawesi as the national center for asphalt processing,” he asserted.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian also emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in advancing regional economic development.

Tito pointed out that currently, 65% of regional budgets still rely on central government funds, while only 34% comes from locally generated revenue (PAD). Therefore, he urged Kadin and business stakeholders in Southeast Sulawesi to further strengthen their role in promoting the local economy.

“Never dream of advancing a region solely by relying on APBD (regional government budgets). A region will progress only if PAD increases. That’s why we must foster a vibrant private sector through Kadin,” Tito asserted.
