Kadin Indonesia Institute and Japan’s KAIL Discuss Potential Cooperation, From Transportation to Nuclear Energy

Jakarta - The Kadin Indonesia Institute welcomed a delegation from the Kyushu Asia Institute of Leadership (KAIL) at the Kadin Indonesia Tower in South Jakarta on Tuesday (September 23, 2025).

The meeting explored potential cooperation across a range of strategic sectors, including healthcare, transportation, infrastructure, financing, and vocational education.

Mulya Amri, Chair of the Kadin Indonesia Institute Board, explained that the discussion opened up numerous opportunities for collaboration in key areas.

“Today’s discussion revealed a wide range of promising opportunities. For example, KAIL is currently developing low-fossil-fuel vehicle technologies, including electric and hybrid vehicles. We also discussed information technology for expanding healthcare services to remote areas, as well as prospects for collaboration in the renewable energy sector,” said Mulya.

He further noted that Japan has long-standing expertise in developing new and renewable energy sources such as nuclear and hydropower. Indonesia, he said, has the potential to both learn from and attract investment from Japan in these areas.

“We hope to learn from Japan’s experience in this field and, ideally, secure future investment from Japanese partners as well,” he added.

Meanwhile, Koichi Hashida, Chair of the KAIL Board, expressed that the visit was an opportunity to gain a better understanding of developments in Indonesia and Singapore, while also sharing Japan’s experience.

“Through this visit, we hope to better understand the progress happening in Indonesia and Singapore, and bring those insights back to the Kyushu region. At the same time, we would like to share our knowledge and experience so it can be useful here,” Hashida stated.

“This visit is part of a direct field trip, and I’m very pleased to meet with all of you today. I hope we can continue this interaction going forward,” he concluded.

Also in attendance were David Utama, Vice Chairman for Healthcare at Kadin Indonesia, and Yuri Harya Hidayat, Vice Chair of the Kadin Indonesia Institute Board.
