Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) through its Division for Politics and Security held a National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) themed “Political, Defense, Security, and National Resilience Strategies in Facing Global Challenges” at the Kadin Indonesia Tower in Jakarta on Thursday (November 20, 2025).
In his remarks delivered via video conference, Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie emphasized that security stability is a fundamental pillar for achieving Indonesia’s vision of progress and sustainable economic growth.
"The business community must not be mere spectators we must become strategic actors who provide input and serve as the government’s strategic partners," said Anindya, commonly known as Anin.
Anin also reiterated President Prabowo Subianto’s message during the Kadin–Lemhannas Retreat in Magelang earlier in August, stressing that there should be no barriers between the government, the business sector, and society.
"We must move together under a shared national commitment to realize the grand vision for Indonesia. The role of Kadin, including the Coordinating Vice Chair for Politics and Security, is becoming increasingly important in capturing input from the business community, aligning it with national policies, and ensuring our sector contributes to maintaining national stability and resilience," Anin concluded.
Meanwhile, Bambang Soesatyo, known as Bamsoet, Kadin Indonesia’s Coordinating Vice Chair for Politics and Security, highlighted the strategic steps being prepared, particularly regarding Kadin’s institutional reform agenda.
Bamsoet explained that his team has drafted a roadmap to revise Kadin Law No. 1/1987 in order to update and strengthen it as a new legal foundation for Kadin in its role as the government’s strategic partner.
"Before the reform era, Kadin’s position as the government’s partner was very strong, and it was consistently involved in economic decision-making. However, since the reform period, Kadin has appeared to drift further away and is no longer always included in policymaking. Therefore, we want to ensure that Kadin once again becomes a strategic partner of the government," Bamsoet said.
In addition to political and institutional issues, Bamsoet also addressed global economic dynamics, domestic issues, and the discourse on rupiah redenomination. He further noted that there are still many shortcomings in oversight within the defense and economic security sectors that must be improved.
"Many issues have harmed the public due to loose oversight for example, scam cases at several banks that caused losses to customers, as well as various policies that are not pro-business," Bamsoet concluded.
