Nabire – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Central Papua Province has launched a humanitarian solidarity initiative to support communities affected by disasters in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province through the “Kadin Papua Tengah CARE Bencana NTT” movement.

The initiative calls on the public, business community, MSMEs, cooperatives, and various elements of society to come together to collect assistance for residents affected by the disasters in NTT.

The Secretariat of Kadin Central Papua Province issued the appeal in a press release titled “Kadin Papua Tengah Ajak Solidaritas Tanpa Batas untuk Korban Bencana NTT 2026” (“Kadin Central Papua Calls for Boundless Solidarity for Victims of the 2026 NTT Disasters”), published in Nabire on Thursday (August 20, 2026).

Targeting One Container of Aid

Kadin Central Papua Province is targeting the collection of one container of humanitarian aid to be delivered to communities affected by the disasters in NTT.

Kadin Central Papua Province will coordinate the collection of assistance through the Kadin network across various regions in Indonesia, involving Kadin NTT Province as well as Kadin organizations from several other provinces.

The coordination is expected to ensure that aid is collected in an organized manner and distributed according to the needs of communities in affected areas.

The assistance needed includes food and basic necessities, blankets, decent clothing, medicines and first-aid supplies, clean water, hygiene and sanitation supplies, supporting equipment, as well as humanitarian donations.

Kadin Central Papua Calls on All Elements of Society to Take Action

Kadin Central Papua Province emphasized that disasters recognize no territorial boundaries. Therefore, solidarity and concern for affected communities must also transcend regional borders.

“When our brothers and sisters in NTT need assistance, Central Papua must be there. We call on the entire business community and the public to take action together, because no contribution is too small when united in the spirit of humanity,” a representative of Kadin Central Papua Province said in the release.

According to Kadin Central Papua Province, the initiative represents a tangible expression of concern from the business community and people of Central Papua for fellow Indonesians who are facing difficult circumstances as a result of the disasters.

Members of the public who wish to donate goods can deliver their contributions to two collection points prepared by Kadin Central Papua.
