Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) aims to present Indonesia as a leading figure among Global South countries at the World Economic Forum (WEF), which will take place on January 19–23, 2026, in Davos, Switzerland. To achieve this, Kadin Indonesia is seeking to ensure a fully integrated Indonesian presence at the forum.
“For the first time, we are seeing the government, Danantara, and the private sector coming together to advance a shared theme,” said Vice Chairman for Foreign Relations of Kadin Indonesia, Bernardino M. Vega, during a press conference at Danantara, Jakarta, on Friday (January 9, 2026).
Under the theme Endless Horizon, Indonesia aims to demonstrate to the global audience the extraordinary opportunities the country has to offer. Bernardino explained that through this theme, investors and the business community will be able to view a portfolio of projects supported by various business partners ready to collaborate.
“And it also offers expansion opportunities overseas,” he said.
According to Bernardino, Indonesia has three distinct facets that it can showcase to the world. First, Indonesia has the potential to serve as a global carbon reserve, as two of the world’s four largest forests are located in Indonesia.
This aligns with the themes of WEF panel sessions that emphasize green transition and green energy.
“This is actually Indonesia’s competitive advantage one that not many other countries possess,” he said.
Second, Indonesia will also highlight its natural resource wealth. Third, Indonesia will present an integrated approach known as Indonesia Incorporated.
“This is where the entire ecosystem that foreign businesses may inquire about can be addressed within this forum,” Bernardino explained.
Meanwhile, Managing Director for Global Relations & Governance at Danantara, Mohamad Al Arief, said he will position Danantara to identify strategic spaces at WEF 2026 to bridge national development priorities with a global capital access perspective.
“This integration is important for us, because every element must communicate and coordinate with one another,” Arief said.
