President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived in the United States on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, at 11:55 a.m. local time. The Garuda Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft carrying the President and his delegation landed at Joint Base Andrews, Washington, D.C.
At the foot of the aircraft stairs, President Prabowo was welcomed by Indonesia’s Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, Indonesian Defense Attaché in Washington E. Wisoko Aribowo, and Maintenance Group Commander Gary Charland. Afterward, the President proceeded directly to the hotel where he will stay during his visit to Washington, D.C.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in a written release that during the visit, President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. The meeting will focus on strengthening Indonesia–United States relations and expanding strategic cooperation across various economic sectors, including several ongoing negotiations and trade agreements.
“This visit is part of President Prabowo’s active diplomatic efforts to enhance economic value chains and boost domestic industrial productivity,” Teddy wrote.
Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to the United States were Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
