President Prabowo Subianto has implemented a leadership change at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as part of efforts to strengthen the institution and improve the quality of services for national priority programs. Despite the leadership transition, the government has assured the public that all BGN programs and services, particularly the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program, will continue to operate optimally without disruption.
The statement was delivered by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Head of the Government Communications Office Muhammad Qodari, during a press briefing at the Cabinet Meeting Room of the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Minister Prasetyo emphasized that the government continues to evaluate the implementation of various national strategic programs, including those under the coordination of BGN. However, he stressed that the evaluation process must not interfere with the delivery of public services that have been running effectively.
“The government will continue to ensure that throughout the ongoing evaluation process, all programs of the National Nutrition Agency proceed as intended. Public services must not be disrupted under any circumstances, and every unit within the National Nutrition Agency is expected to continue carrying out its duties and responsibilities accordingly,” Minister Prasetyo said.
He further explained that the leadership transition is part of broader efforts to improve and strengthen the organization so that BGN programs can be implemented more effectively and reach their intended targets. Therefore, the government reaffirmed that the change in leadership will not affect its commitment to implementing the MBG Program, one of President Prabowo’s flagship initiatives.
“The government once again emphasizes that this leadership transition will not affect our commitment to implementing the Free Nutritious Meals Program administered by the National Nutrition Agency,” Minister Prasetyo stated.
In his remarks, Minister Prasetyo expressed hope that the institutional strengthening measures would mark a positive beginning for improving the quality of MBG services delivered to the public. The program is regarded as strategically important in supporting Indonesia’s human capital development while also contributing to national economic growth.
“We hope this step will serve as a positive starting point for strengthening the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program so that it can be carried out in the best possible manner, as part of our investment in education and human resource development,” Minister Prasetyo concluded.
With stronger organizational capacity and sustained program continuity, the government remains optimistic that the Free Nutritious Meals Program will become increasingly effective in supporting the development of high-quality human resources as Indonesia advances toward its Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
