Kadin Chairman Welcomes LiuGong's Rp5.2 Trillion Investment in Karawang, Indonesia Set to Become Heavy Equipment Export Hub

Karawang – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, welcomed LiuGong's decision to establish Indonesia as both its manufacturing base and export hub for serving global markets.

Anindya, popularly known as Anin, made the remarks during the LiuGong Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of the company's integrated heavy equipment manufacturing facility at Karawang Artha Industrial Hill in Karawang, West Java, on Wednesday (July 22, 2026).

"On behalf of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I would like to congratulate the entire LiuGong family on the groundbreaking of this integrated heavy equipment manufacturing facility in Karawang. We also congratulate LiuGong for choosing Indonesia as its export hub to serve markets around the world," Anin said.

Anin praised LiuGong's investment commitment of approximately Rp5.2 trillion in the 27-hectare facility, which will have an annual production capacity of up to 3,000 units of heavy equipment. He described the investment as highly strategic in supporting Indonesia's growing demand for heavy machinery amid the country's accelerating downstream industrialization, particularly in the mineral sector.

"Together with the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry, we have worked hard to attract investments like this. The value of this investment is highly significant and will help meet the increasing demand for heavy equipment as Indonesia accelerates its downstream industrialization and broader industrial development," Anin said.

Anin also commended LiuGong's collaboration with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in developing human capital.

"Investment is not only about capital—it is also about investing in human resources and knowledge, both of which are critically important for Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, Anin emphasized the importance of the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) in achieving sustainable economic growth.

"That is the key to driving sustainable economic growth toward our 8 percent target while ensuring that development remains inclusive by involving local businesses," Anin said.

Concluding his remarks, Anin said LiuGong's investment would deliver at least three major benefits for Indonesia. First, it would stimulate economic growth through increased investment. Second, it would create employment opportunities.

"Third, it will strengthen infrastructure development, generating a significant multiplier effect for the national economy. The fact that Indonesia has been selected as an export hub makes this achievement even more meaningful," Anin said.

Anin expressed hope that LiuGong's investment would inspire more Chinese companies to invest in Indonesia.

"Hopefully, this partnership will not only be successful but will also inspire many more Chinese companies to invest in Indonesia. Investments like this are exactly what Indonesia needs to support sustainable national economic growth," Anin concluded.

Also attending the ceremony was Kadin Indonesia Vice Chairman for Regional Empowerment, Kukrit Suryo Wicaksono.
