Anindya Bakrie Inaugurates Central Sulawesi Kadin Board for 2026–2031, Highlights Economic Potential Beyond Nickel

Palu – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) Anindya Novyan Bakrie inaugurated the Central Sulawesi Kadin Board of Management for the 2026–2031 term at the Central Sulawesi Governor’s Office in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Wednesday evening (September 16, 2026).

Anin, as he is affectionately known, expressed optimism about Central Sulawesi’s economic potential. He said the province’s potential was not limited to nickel and downstream processing, but also extended to agriculture, fisheries, and plantations, including coconut, durian, and cocoa.

“Leverage national and international networks to expand investment promotion and open market access for local businesses,” Anin said.

Anin also reminded the newly inaugurated board members to carry out their organizational responsibilities by delivering tangible benefits and impact to the community, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), job seekers, and the younger generation.

“Three words for the new board: they must be beneficial, impactful, and trustworthy,” Anin emphasized.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Sulawesi Kadin Board Gufran Ahmad said the Central Sulawesi Kadin Board for the 2026–2031 term was established as a broad platform for all business players, ranging from large enterprises to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“We want local entrepreneurs to be part of the growth, not merely spectators or backups. Local entrepreneurs must be integrated into industrial supply chains, gain access to markets, and improve their capacity and competitiveness,” Gufran said.

According to Gufran, Kadin must not limit its role to ceremonial activities, but must serve as a dynamizer of the business sector by translating government programs into tangible business opportunities.

He added that the organization’s success would be measured by the creation of new business opportunities, increased capacity among local entrepreneurs, the expansion of employment opportunities, and the growing participation of MSMEs in industrial supply chains.

“However, we also realize that accelerating Central Sulawesi’s economic growth cannot be achieved by Central Sulawesi Kadin alone. We need strong collaboration and support from Kadin Indonesia and the Central Sulawesi provincial government,” he added.

Furthermore, Central Sulawesi Deputy Governor Reny Arniwaty Lamadjido said the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government was ready to strengthen collaboration with Kadin to promote investment and regional economic growth.

Reny said Central Sulawesi had significant potential across various sectors, not only mining but also agriculture, plantations, and fisheries.

The provincial government, she added, was also preparing a number of economic development programs, including the development of 3,000 hectares of rice fields using modern agricultural approaches to support Central Sulawesi’s role as a food-producing region.

“We welcome investors who are interested in investing in Central Sulawesi Province. We will not make it difficult. What is important is that investors carry out their activities in accordance with the applicable regulations,” Reny said.

Also attending the event were Kadin Indonesia Coordinating Vice Chairman (WKUK) for Organization, Communications and Regional Empowerment Erwin Aksa; Kadin Indonesia Coordinating Vice Chairman for Law and Human Rights, Infrastructure and Facilities M. Azis Syamsuddin; Kadin Indonesia Vice Chairman for Organization Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko; and Kadin Indonesia Executive Director Pipin Moh. Saeful Arifin.
