Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, attended the KUNCI BERSAMA Summit 2026, themed "Cross-Border Synergy in Building an Ecosystem and Advancing the Border Region of West Java and Central Java Towards Golden Indonesia 2045," held at the Merlynn Park Hotel in Central Jakarta on Monday (July 27, 2026).

The summit served as a collaborative platform bringing together the central government, regional governments, and the business community to accelerate the development of the KUNCI BERSAMA region, which encompasses eastern West Java, Central Java, and East Java through a polycentric agglomeration approach.

Following the event, Anindya, popularly known as Anin, said Kadin Indonesia's participation reflected its commitment to supporting regional economic development, particularly in eastern West Java and its surrounding integrated areas.

"Kadin is here to support KUNCI BERSAMA in advancing the development of eastern West Java, together with Central Java and East Java," Anin said.

According to Anin, each regency and municipality within the region should develop its own competitive advantages and economic focus, allowing them to complement one another in building an integrated regional economic ecosystem.

"Every regency in West Java can develop its own area of specialization. One may become a financial hub, another a logistics center, while others may focus on fashion, retail, or other leading industries," he explained.

Anin added that the region possesses enormous economic potential, with a population of approximately 13.5 million people. He emphasized the need for a development strategy capable of positioning the area as one of Indonesia's key engines of economic growth.

"What makes this region particularly significant is that we are talking about 13.5 million people. We need to ensure that this area continues to grow because it has the potential to become one of the backbones of Indonesia's national economy," Anin said.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) encouraged KUNCI BERSAMA to become a model for polycentric agglomeration-based regional development, drawing on best practices from countries such as the Netherlands, China, and Germany.

According to AHY, the KUNCI BERSAMA region generates a combined Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of approximately Rp592 trillion, positioning it as a potential new engine of Indonesia's economic growth.

AHY explained that the initiative originated from the aspirations of regional governments facing common challenges, including fiscal constraints, infrastructure development, and interregional connectivity.

"Building a project is never easy. It is even more challenging to develop an integrated region. Too often we become trapped by sectoral interests. We build major projects without thinking long-term about how they can be integrated with the surrounding areas," AHY said.

During the event, 10 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Kadin Indonesia and regional governments to strengthen cooperation in regional economic development, investment promotion, and business empowerment.

The agreements were signed with the governments of Brebes Regency, Pangandaran Regency, Majalengka Regency, Kuningan Regency, Ciamis Regency, Cilacap Regency, Indramayu Regency, Cirebon Regency, Cirebon City, and Banjar City.

KUNCI BERSAMA is a cooperative secretariat representing 10 border-region administrations located along the border areas of West Java and Central Java. It was established to facilitate program synergy, policy harmonization, and the collective development of border regions.

Also attending the summit was Kadin Indonesia Vice Chairman for Java Region I (Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Banten, and West Java), Agung Suryamal Sutisna.
