Kadin Manggarai Timur Dilantik, Perkuat Peran Dunia Usaha dalam Pemulihan Pascagempa

Borong – The Executive Board of the East Manggarai Regency Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for the 2026–2031 term was officially inaugurated at the East Manggarai Regent’s Official Residence on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) at 7 p.m. Central Indonesia Time. Maximilian Firman Demorin has been entrusted to lead the East Manggarai Kadin for a second consecutive term.

The inauguration was witnessed by East Manggarai Regent Andreas Agas and officials from the East Manggarai Regency Government. The ceremony was officiated by Chairman of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bobby G. Lianto, and attended by several NTT Kadin officials, including Coordinating Vice Chairman for Economic Affairs Christopher Samara and NTT Kadin Advisory Board member Stefanus Tani Temu.

Also in attendance were Chairman of Ende Regency Kadin Haji Herry Jufry and Chairman of Nagekeo Regency Kadin Sambu Aurelius.

In his remarks, Bobby Lianto congratulated the newly inaugurated board and expressed his appreciation for the East Manggarai Kadin’s swift response to the earthquake that struck Flores.

He noted that on the second day following the earthquake, the East Manggarai Kadin immediately deployed teams to the affected areas to conduct humanitarian efforts, including distributing essential food supplies and mobilizing healthcare professionals to assist affected communities.

“The swift response demonstrated by the East Manggarai Kadin shows that the business community plays a role not only in economic activities but also in supporting communities in times of disaster,” Bobby said.

Following the inauguration, the event continued with the distribution of aid to earthquake-affected communities through the Flores Earthquake Emergency Response Command Post in East Manggarai Regency.

Bobby Lianto emphasized that Kadin Indonesia, through Kadin NTT and Kadin organizations across the regencies and cities of Flores, remains committed to supporting disaster response efforts since the first earthquake struck.

To date, seven regional Kadin organizations across Flores have distributed various forms of assistance to affected communities, including food supplies such as rice and other essential goods, tarpaulins and blankets, as well as construction materials to support recovery efforts.

“This is a concrete manifestation of Kadin’s commitment to stand alongside the government and communities and work together in responding to emergency situations and supporting post-disaster recovery,” Bobby said.

In distributing the aid, Kadin also collaborated with Yayasan Peduli Flores, Persekutuan Doa Zurich, the Indonesian Air Force, the Indonesian Navy, and Washeng Travel & Cargo.

The cross-sector collaboration is expected to strengthen the distribution of assistance while accelerating the recovery process for communities affected by the disaster across Flores Island.

With Maximilian Firman Demorin once again entrusted with leading the East Manggarai Kadin, the organization is expected to further strengthen its role in supporting regional economic growth while serving as a strategic partner to the government in addressing development and humanitarian challenges in East Manggarai.
