The government encourages the optimisation of the use of natural resources (SDA) and the acceleration of the downstreaming of SDA which must be used for the greatest prosperity of the people. One of the efforts made is by stipulating Government Regulation Number 36 of 2023 concerning Foreign Exchange Proceeds from the Exploitation, Management and/or Processing of Natural Resources (PP DHE SDA), as a revision of Government Regulation Number 1 of 2019.

PP No. 36 of 2023 was drafted with the spirit of carrying out the mandate of Article 33 paragraph 4 of the 1945 Constitution, as well as in order to maintain the sustainability and resilience of the national economy. This PP aims to encourage sources of financing for economic development, increase investment and natural resource export performance, and support the realisation of macroeconomic stability and domestic financial markets.

On 8 August 2023, Kadin Indonesia held a discussion to formulate recommendations on PP 36. There are several things that concern Kadin, including the impact of PP 36 and its derivative policies on economic development. Furthermore, Kadin will meet the Minister of Finance, BI, Coordinating Minister for Economy, OJK to further discuss the position of the business world on the enactment of the PP.
