Kadin Indonesia, especially through the Regenerative Forest Business Hub (RFBH) programme, continues to support the implementation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) policy related to Multi Forestry Business (MUK) which has started in 2022. Through the RFBH programme, Kadin has also initiated the facilitation of the transformation of the MUK business model and has gained a lot of learning about the MUK business ecosystem which can be valuable knowledge for parties, especially PBPH and offtakers. One of the hopes and plans of the Kadin RFBH programme in supporting government policy (MoEF) is the start of a pilot project (Pilot MUK) which will begin in 2025.

In preparation for the implementation of MUK, Kadin RFBH has organised workshop activities as a means of increasing the capacity of PBPH Human Resources (HR) related to the basic concepts of MUK, the overall policy framework, the business ecosystem and cooperation with parties in the MUK business ecosystem. The Multi Forestry Business (MUK) Workshop was held on 30 September 2024.

The transformation of forest utilisation by PBPH from timber-based to Multi Forestry Business (MUK) has been stipulated through Government Regulation (PP) No 23 of 2021. MUK is a new business opportunity that provides many opportunities for benefits both in the economic/financial, environmental and social contexts. However, MUK is a new business model for PBPH with a completely new business ecosystem, so it requires adequate preparation of human resource capacity to implement the policy.

Capacity building of PBPH Human Resources (HR) related to the basic concepts of MUK, the overall policy framework, the business ecosystem and cooperation with parties in the MUK business ecosystem is very important to master.
