The National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) together with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held ‘The International Battery Summit (IBS) 2024’ at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia on 29-30 July 2024.
The theme of the summit was ‘Future Battery Technology from Upstream to Downstream to Accelerate Clean Energy Transition.’ Topics covered at the Battery Summit 2024 include advanced battery technologies ranging from critical minerals, mining, battery manufacturing, to various energy storage applications for renewable energy and electric vehicles to recycling towards a circular economy. The current state of the global battery and electric vehicle industry was presented by experts, involving policy makers, ministerial regulatory bodies, standardisation bodies, and others. Indonesia's roadmap to become one of the major players for global producers of battery materials and electric vehicle industry will be directed by government representatives.
In addition, Kadin also plays an important role in advancing the nation's economic development by encouraging business innovation and collaboration across various sectors. As the representative body of Indonesian business, Kadin is committed to creating a dynamic environment that encourages investment and sustainable growth. At the 2024 International Battery Summit, Kadin aims to leverage its influential position to facilitate business opportunities among stakeholders in the electric vehicle (EV) battery supply chain, mining and renewable energy sectors.
