Standardization of the construction competency certification system is an important step to improve the quality and safety of construction in Indonesia. This certification provides benefits to the workforce, employers, and consumers. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize and educate all stakeholders so that they understand the importance of this certification and can take advantage of it optimally.
To ensure that the implementation of Work Competency Certification by Construction LSP is in accordance with the applicable provisions, it is necessary to streamline and harmonize. In order to improve the collaboration of all stakeholders in the construction sector, KADIN Indonesia in the field of Public Works, Public Housing and Infrastructure in collaboration with the Manpower Division held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Standardization of the Work Competency Certification System for Construction Services” which will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Based on Law No. 2 of 2017 concerning Construction Services and its implementing regulations, namely PP No. 14 of 2021 and PUPR Ministerial Decree No. 713 of 2022, there are many provisions governing the Work Competency Certification System, while in granting licenses from BNSP refers to the Guidelines and Implementation Guidelines set by BNSP.
There needs to be a common framework of thought in understanding the provisions and laws and regulations that apply, to be used as guidelines or standard standards as a reference for LSP Construction in organizing certification of work competence in the construction services sector.
In connection with the above conditions, it can be identified several things that need to be discussed and become a common concern with all relevant stakeholders to make the formulation of conclusions that will become a common consensus in the implementation of work competency certification in the construction services sector.
- Harmonization and collaboration that needs to be implemented in unifying the provisions and laws and regulations on the implementation of work competency certification in the construction services sector.

- Policies that need to be taken from each sector to provide legal certainty for the parties involved
