Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, attended the Ceremony for the Joint Venture Between Tempo Scan Group and Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited – PT Tempo CTTQ Biopharmaceutical Indonesia (TCBI) at Tempo Scan Tower, South Jakarta, on Friday (July 24, 2026).
Following the ceremony, Anindya, popularly known as Anin, congratulated Tempo Scan Group on the establishment of the strategic partnership. He emphasized that investment in the healthcare sector is crucial for strengthening Indonesia's pharmaceutical industry while expanding public access to quality healthcare services.
"Congratulations to Tempo Scan Group. This is an industry with tremendous growth potential that can help make healthcare not a luxury, but a fundamental necessity for everyone in society," Anin said.
Anin revealed that, based on a Kadin Indonesia White Paper jointly prepared with Indonesia's Ministry of Health, the country's healthcare sector is valued at approximately Rp670 trillion annually. He noted that the sector generates a significant multiplier effect for the national economy.
"The Rp670 trillion healthcare sector means that every rupiah invested in healthcare generates an additional two to three rupiah in economic multiplier effects," Anin said.
According to Anin, the healthcare sector's enormous economic potential remains underappreciated. Beyond improving people's quality of life, investment in healthcare can also reduce the government's fiscal burden, including through greater efficiency in financing public health services such as BPJS Kesehatan, Indonesia's national health insurance program.
Anin also highlighted Indonesia's continued reliance on imported pharmaceutical and healthcare raw materials. He said that new investments such as this joint venture could strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia's healthcare industry.
"For many years, we have depended heavily on imported raw materials. If we can reduce those imports, our domestic industry will become much stronger," he said.
Anin added that the substantial economic value of the healthcare sector creates broad business opportunities for companies of all sizes, from large corporations to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). He noted that this aligns with Kadin Indonesia's membership structure, which is dominated by approximately 60 million MSMEs, while large enterprises account for only a small proportion of its members.
"I believe this is a clear sign that both domestic and foreign investment are beginning to gain momentum. It also demonstrates the strength of Indonesia's domestic consumption. We have always talked about trade, investment, and domestic consumption—alongside government spending—as the key drivers of our economy," Anin concluded.
