Bidik Pasar Domestik dan Mancanegara, Brand Kopi Sumsel Resmi Dilaunching

Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Arsjad Rasjid, appreciated the launch of Kopi Sumsel, which was initiated by the Provincial Government and Kadin Sumsel. Kopi Sumsel was officially launched by the Acting Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni at Lambidaro Sekanak River Court, Palembang (12/5/2024).

Arsjad Rasjid, who was directly present at the South Sumatra Coffee Launching activity, also hoped that South Sumatra Coffee could soon go global and be known to foreign countries.

"Thankfully, South Sumatra Coffee has now been favoured by coffee lovers. Therefore, in order for the world to recognise South Sumatra's speciality coffee, all parties need to participate in pushing the coffee industry in South Sumatra forward," he said.

Arsjad himself admitted that he is proud that South Sumatra Province is the largest coffee producing area in Indonesia.

It is known that South Sumatra Province is the largest coffee producing area in Indonesia and is recorded to produce 212.4 thousand tonnes of coffee or 26.72% of the total national coffee production.

Arsjad said the vast potential of coffee in South Sumatra contributed to the economic movement in South Sumatra and the country.

"The coffee industry is able to have an extraordinary impact on employment, human empowerment for coffee development," he said.

Kadin, he continued, especially Arsjad, will continue to encourage South Sumatra Coffee to be able to upgrade and penetrate the market throughout Indonesia to export abroad.

"Currently in South Korea, the South Sumatra Coffee event is taking place which is welcomed enthusiastically by the local community because the country is the largest coffee consumer in the world and this is an opportunity for South Sumatra Coffee to be recognised and go international," he said.

The South Sumatra Coffee Launching Ceremony was marked by drinking coffee by Pj Governor Agus Fatoni and South Sumatra TP PKK Chair AP Widyaningtyas together with Kadin Indonesia Chairman Arsjad Rasjid and South Sumatra Kadin Chairman Affandi Udji. Then continued with the release of balloons into the air. The launch of the South Sumatra Coffee Brand is part of the South Sumatra Province Anniversary series.

In his remarks, Agus Fatoni invited various parties to support the steps of the Regional Government which had launched the South Sumatra Coffee brand so that it was better known to the wider community.

"We want South Sumatra to be the host for South Sumatra Coffee itself, we want South Sumatra Coffee to be loved, enjoyed by coffee lovers from all over Indonesia and abroad," he concluded.
