Kadin Meets Health Minister to Discuss Healthcare Industry Roadmap Ahead of Global One Health Summit 2026

Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, held a meeting with Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin at the Ministry of Health office in South Jakarta on Monday (March 16, 2026).

During the meeting, Anindya—commonly known as Anin—stated that the business community is ready to collaborate with the government to strengthen the national healthcare sector, including through the development of a healthcare industry roadmap expected to generate significant economic impact.

Anin noted that the initiative is also part of preparations for the Global One Health Summit 2026, which will take place in Lyon on April 7.

“We are very pleased to work with the Minister of Health. Ahead of the One Health Summit, we are also preparing a healthcare industry roadmap. Its impact could be extraordinary—creating an economic breakthrough and supporting the government’s continued growth in times like these,” Anin said.

He added that the Global One Health Summit 2026 represents an important moment for Indonesia on the global stage, especially as President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to serve as co-chair alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.

“But the impact is not only for one country, but for the world. Therefore, Kadin is contributing through collaboration from the business sector, as the Minister mentioned, where the business community is invited alongside researchers, scientists, and NGOs,” Anin said.

Anin emphasized that the healthcare sector has strong potential to become a new engine of national economic growth. In addition to driving innovation, the sector is also expected to create jobs and open new investment opportunities in the future.

“I believe this could become a major collaboration that ultimately elevates Indonesia’s global standing and boosts economic growth. It will create jobs and represents a growth industry that many previously overlooked, but which can now truly serve as a key economic driver,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that President Prabowo’s participation in the forum will open a new chapter in diplomatic relations between Indonesia and France, particularly in the healthcare sector.

“This is not only about G2G (government-to-government) relations, but also involves the business community, scientific community, civil society, and local governments in building health diplomacy between France and Indonesia in support of the One Health theme,” Budi said.

He added that the involvement of the business sector through Kadin is crucial to maximizing the economic benefits of such cooperation.

Budi also highlighted the government’s target to push national economic growth to 8 percent. According to him, historically, economic growth surges in many countries have been driven by the emergence of new industrial sectors.

“In Indonesia’s history and across nations, every leap in GDP growth has always been driven by the rise of new industries. As Mr. Anin has experienced, these sectors are key to achieving high growth. In healthcare, we see this sector as one that can help realize the President’s target of 8 percent growth,” he concluded.

Also present at the meeting were Kadin Indonesia Vice Chair for Foreign Affairs James T. Riady and Vice Chair for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development Shinta Widjaja Kamdani.
