Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Google Indonesia on Empowering MSMEs and Developing Google Content Creators through the YouTube Platform. The signing took place at the Kadin Indonesia Tower in Jakarta on Wednesday (October 15, 2025).
The event was attended by Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia; Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo, Vice Chair for Communication and Digital Affairs at Kadin Indonesia; Suwandi Widjaja, Country Head of YouTube Indonesia; and Fanly Tanto, Country Director of Google Cloud Indonesia.
Kadin Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie described the collaboration as a significant step in expanding market access and accelerating digital transformation for MSMEs across Indonesia.
"This is where I believe technology, YouTube, and Google can play a role in scaling up, expanding reach, and integrating MSMEs into the global supply chain," said Anindya, commonly known as Anin.
He added that this collaboration is expected to go beyond the signing of the MoU and move quickly into real implementation.
"My hope is that this partnership can begin with 500 MSMEs and grow to 5,000 or even 50,000 MSMEs. We know that there are around 60 million micro and small businesses in Indonesia," Anin continued.
He also emphasized that Kadin's extensive network, which spans all provinces, regencies, and cities, could be a key driver in pushing digital penetration to even the most remote regions.
"With Google’s global network and Kadin’s nationwide reach, I believe this synergy can produce a sustainable model for MSME empowerment," said Anin.
Meanwhile, Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo, Kadin Indonesia’s Vice Chair for Communication and Digital Affairs, explained that this strategic partnership will focus on three main pillars: enhancing digital skills, expanding market access, and mastering practical skills.
"We aim to achieve these goals through various joint training programs, such as YouTube Shopping Affiliate, where creators can directly promote products or brands and earn commissions from conversions," said Clarissa.
She added that this program not only offers an additional revenue stream for content creators but also opens new marketing channels for MSMEs to reach broader audiences.
"MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy, contributing over 60% to the GDP. To reach our economic growth target of 8% in the future, accelerating the digital transformation of MSMEs is crucial," she stressed.
Through this collaboration, Kadin and Google will also offer capacity-building and digital literacy training, including enhancing product monetization capabilities and developing national digital talent.
On the same occasion, Suwandi Widjaja, Country Head of YouTube Indonesia, stated that the collaboration reflects YouTube and Google’s long-term commitment to fostering the growth of Indonesia's creative economy.
"We are truly excited. We hope this collaboration goes beyond a ceremonial signing and becomes a long-term commitment between YouTube, Google, and Kadin. We share the same mission—to advance the creative economy and empower MSMEs in Indonesia," he said.
