The Board Member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Central Executive Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah held a meeting to discuss the healthy and smart children movement, efforts to eradicate stunting (growth failure), and improve nutrition for toddlers and children of primary education age, on Monday (22/4/2024).

The visit of the Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for National Development Planning, Herman Heru Suprobo, who was accompanied by the Kadin Board Member and Director of Sharia Banking of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, Pandji P. Djajanegara, was received by the General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti and Chairman of the Social Welfare Development Assembly (MPKS) PP Muhammadiyah Mariman Darto.

Herman Heru Suprobo, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Kadin Stunting Alleviation Working Group, explained that the purpose of his visit was to invite Muhammadiyah to reduce the stunting rate while improving the nutritional value and nutrition of students in Muhammadiyah schools.

Apart from the welfare factor and the economic level of the community, handling stunting cannot be separated from the role of the community and related technical institutions.

As the parent organisation of the business world, Kadin implements various programs that are in line with the government in stunting eradication as mandated in Presidential Regulation number 72 of 2021.

Programmes will be implemented in priority locations in order to help reduce prevalence significantly and on target, without exception in the school environment.

Meanwhile, Chairman of MPKS PP Muhammadiyah Mariman Darto welcomed Kadin Indonesia's invitation to reduce the stunting rate by providing nutrition and nutrition to students in Muhammadiyah schools.
