Kadin Banten Promotes Modern Agriculture Through Golden Melon Harvest Festival in Lebak

Lebak – The Banten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Banten), in collaboration with the Lebak Regency Government, held the Golden Melon Harvest Festival of Margawana Mulya in Margawana Hamlet, Cipadang Village, Lebak Regency, Banten, on Thursday (14/05/2026).

Chairman of Kadin Banten, Azzari Jayabaya, stated that the modern agriculture sector holds significant potential to become a new economic driver in Lebak Regency if supported by strong collaboration among farmers, the government, and the business community.

“This harvest celebration is not merely about agricultural output, but about how rural communities can create economic value, generate employment opportunities, and build regional self-reliance. Kadin is here to support the development of a healthy and sustainable business ecosystem,” he said.

Azzari further explained that the Golden Melon Harvest Festival of Margawana Mulya also symbolizes the success of local agricultural innovation that is beginning to flourish in the Lebak area. With high-quality harvest results and growing market potential, golden melon commodities are considered to have strong prospects to become one of the region’s flagship products.

In addition to attending the harvest festival, Azzari Jayabaya also held direct discussions with local farmers and business actors regarding challenges in distribution, marketing, and strengthening the competitiveness of local products. This initiative is considered important to ensure that the agricultural sector in Lebak develops not only in terms of production, but is also able to advance in business and industrial capacity.

“Kadin hopes that activities like this will continue to grow into a regional economic agenda capable of attracting investors, strengthening MSMEs, and sustainably improving the welfare of the people of Lebak Regency,” Azzari concluded.

Also present at the event were Vice Chairman for Agriculture Affairs of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) Devi Erna Rachmawati and Regent of Lebak Regency Hasbi Asyidiki Jayabaya.
