Kadin and BGN Inaugurate 6 MBG Gotong Royong SPPG Units, Ready to Serve 24,000 Beneficiaries

Semarang - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Novyan Bakrie, together with Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana, officially inaugurated six Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) under the Pilot Project of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Task Force initiated by Kadin’s Gotong Royong (mutual cooperation) initiative. The inauguration took place simultaneously from Semarang, Central Java, on Friday, August 22, 2025.

The event was also attended by Head of the MBG Gotong Royong Task Force of Kadin Indonesia and Executive Chairman of Tempo Scan Group, Handojo S. Muljadi; Independent Commissioner of Tempo Scan Group, Agus Sutomo; Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti; as well as executives from Kadin Indonesia and the Provincial Kadin chapters.

In his remarks, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, stated that the MBG program is a major government initiative aimed at addressing malnutrition and stunting, while also preparing for Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045.

“The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, has emphasized the state’s commitment to strengthening human capital through this program. As a strategic partner of the government, Kadin Indonesia is called to take real action,” said Anindya, who is commonly known as Anin.

Anin added that Kadin Indonesia has established the MBG Gotong Royong Task Force led by Handojo S. Muljadi, with a target of building 1,000 SPPG units through the collective efforts and self-funding of Kadin members.

He stated that the inauguration of the six SPPG units in Semarang, Bekasi, Cirebon, Bandung, Tegal, and Depok marks a significant milestone.

“These six SPPG facilities were fully built through the CSR contributions of Kadin members, particularly Tempo Scan Group, with a total investment of approximately IDR 20 billion. These facilities are expected to serve more than 24,000 beneficiaries, including students and local communities,” said Anin.

According to Anin, the SPPG units are not merely infrastructure projects but also serve as standard models and training centers for Kadin members who wish to participate in the MBG program. Kadin has also prepared an operational manual and established the Supra Merah Putih Foundation as a special partner to BGN.

“This moment demonstrates that the business community is ready to support the national agenda to combat stunting and fulfill nutritional needs. Kadin Indonesia believes that collaboration between the government, private sector, and society is key to the success of this program,” Anin concluded.

Meanwhile, Head of the MBG Gotong Royong Task Force, Handojo S. Muljadi, explained that the task force has prepared various communication platforms to support the program.

“We’ve launched an official website and social media accounts to provide real-time information access for all members. These platforms can also function as B2B channels for Kadin members interested in becoming contractors, kitchen equipment vendors, food suppliers, or raw material providers,” said Handojo.

In addition, the Task Force has partnered with Tempo Utama Finance to provide financing schemes, including for MSMEs.

“We understand that it’s often difficult for MSMEs to obtain credit from banks. That’s why we are offering financing options whether for construction, renovation of SPPG units, kitchen equipment, or food delivery vehicles,” he added.

Furthermore, Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, noted that Semarang is among the fastest cities to realize the development of SPPG units. Of the total target of 105 units, only one remains unfinished.

Dadan also expressed his appreciation for Kadin Indonesia’s role, noting that all six inaugurated SPPG units were fully funded through CSR contributions.

“This is remarkable. With contributions from just 270 companies, IDR 540 billion has already been raised. Based on our verification, approximately IDR 50 trillion is circulating within communities, and Kadin has contributed about 10 percent of that,” Dadan emphasized.
