Kadin and BNSP Collaborate to Develop Work Competency Certification

In order to implement the mandate of Presidential Regulation No. 68 of 2022 on Revitalising Vocational Education and Training, Kadin Indonesia and the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Synergy of National Work Competency Certification (5/2/2024).

The scope of this cooperation includes collaboration in the implementation and development of the national work competency certification system, harmonisation and synergy of recognition of the national work competency certification system, exchange of data and/or information on the implementation of the national work competency certification system, and implementation of quality assurance of vocational education and vocational training through the national work competency certification system.

Yukki N. Hanafi, Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia in his speech explained that BNSP is the only state institution mandated to certify and licence qualified certification participants. Hopefully this collaboration can strengthen each other between Kadin Indonesia and BNSP, and can achieve the desired GOLD INDONESIA 2045.

Syamsi Hari, Chairman of the National Professional Certification Agency, said that the BNSP certificate is not just a piece of paper but in the process of issuing it there is an effort with the results of competent participants. This certification is also not limited in its target, anyone can and is entitled to get a BNSP certificate. BNSP is also ready to collaborate with assessors. LSP is also expected to maintain quality in accordance with the needs of the workforce.

Adi Mahfudz, Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for Vocational and Certification, said that the MoU to be signed is a follow-up in socialising the importance of professional competency certification, especially within Kadin. It is hoped that after the cooperation is established, it can provide strengthening in other sectors for around 200+ national level associations under Kadin Indonesia. If BNSP cooperates with Kadin Indonesia, it will directly cooperate with provincial, district and city Kadin. Kadin Indonesia also oversees Extraordinary Members with hundreds of thousands of large companies, with the hope that BNSP can guarantee that technical competencies are in accordance with the standards applied.

It is expected that the memorandum of understanding between Kadin Indonesia and BNSP can carry out work competency certification as an effort to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the workforce both nationally and internationally both domestically and abroad.
