Jakarta  – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, accompanied by members of the Kadin leadership, held a meeting with Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Arifatul Choiri Fauzi at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in Central Jakarta on Monday (July 27, 2026).

During the meeting, Kadin Indonesia and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection discussed opportunities for collaboration to strengthen women's empowerment, child protection, and the development of the care economy as one of the key pillars of Indonesia's economic growth toward the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.

Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Novyan Bakrie said that women's empowerment and child protection are inseparable components of national development. Beyond their significant social impact, both issues also represent substantial economic opportunities.

"From a social perspective, we see women's empowerment and child protection as inseparable elements in Indonesia's journey toward Golden Indonesia 2045. At the same time, they also represent a major economic opportunity," said Anindya, who is widely known as Anin.

Anin explained that approximately 60 percent of Indonesia's micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are owned or operated by women. Considering the large workforce involved, empowering women will play an important role in supporting President Prabowo Subianto's vision of gradually increasing Indonesia's economic growth to 8 percent.

According to Anin, one of Kadin Indonesia's main priorities in supporting this agenda is the development of the care economy.

"Indonesia has a caring society by nature. When we talk about the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities, we have strong human resources to develop the care economy—not only to meet domestic needs but also to serve international markets," Anin said.

He added that the care economy is closely linked to Indonesia's migrant workforce, which contributes significant remittance inflows to the national economy.

As a follow-up initiative, Kadin Indonesia plans to collaborate with the Ministry in promoting the establishment of daycare facilities within the business sector.

"We would like to work together and seek the Minister's support in expanding daycare services. This is important because Kadin member companies employ many professionals, including women entrepreneurs. With adequate daycare facilities, children will be well cared for, mothers will be able to work more productively, and ultimately the economy will perform better," Anin explained.

Anin said Kadin Indonesia will encourage its members to recognize the importance of providing daycare services while also developing best-practice standards that can be adopted by member companies. In addition, Kadin will utilize the government's care economy roadmap as a reference in strengthening Indonesia's economic diplomacy across various international forums.

"We believe this roadmap is highly valuable. Kadin is also actively engaged in economic diplomacy. Indonesia is gaining increasing attention in international forums such as BRICS, the B20, and APEC. We will continue to advocate the business community's perspective on the importance of the care economy," Anin said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifatul Choiri Fauzi described the collaboration with Kadin Indonesia as a strategic step toward strengthening women's empowerment nationwide.

"We are looking at how we can collaborate and work in synergy to empower Indonesian women. As we know, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), women and children account for approximately two-thirds of Indonesia's population. This means they play an extremely important and strategic role," Arifatul said.

She explained that the government and Kadin Indonesia are currently identifying concrete areas of collaboration to strengthen women's empowerment programs.

"Today we are identifying the areas where we can collaborate to reinforce women's empowerment. When women are empowered, God willing, families become stronger, children receive better care, and mothers are better equipped to manage their households," she concluded.

Also attending the meeting were Kadin Indonesia Coordinating Vice Chairman for Social Affairs Nita Yudi and Vice Chairman for Women's and Children's Empowerment Tatyana Sentani Sutara.
