Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) together with the World Economic Forum (WEF) organised an event entitled WEF Indonesian CEO Dinner 2025: Shaping the Intelligent Future of Business on Friday (23/05/25) evening at the RGE Lounge, Menara Kadin Indonesia, South Jakarta.
The event strengthened the strategic partnership between Kadin and WEF in the face of global economic challenges, while discussing collaboration opportunities to support intelligent and sustainable business transformation in Indonesia.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Novyan Bakrie emphasised the importance of collaboration with WEF in supporting national economic growth and bridging the relationship between Indonesia and the global network.
‘Today we just had dinner with the leadership from WEF. As is known, WEF is a world-class platform, a gathering place for world leaders from the business, economic and government sectors,’ Anin said.
Anin explained that the meeting included discussions on various strategic issues such as energy, sustainability, and the utilisation of new technologies.
In addition, Kadin and WEF also discussed the Indonesian government's priority programmes, including the Free Meal Programme (MBG).
‘We discussed energy, sustainability issues, and programmes such as the Free Meal Programme,’ she explained.
Anin also underlined that this collaboration is part of a long-term effort to encourage the modernisation of Indonesia's strategic sectors, including agriculture.
‘This is not just a long-term strategy for our children and grandchildren, but also a real opportunity to increase the industrialisation of the agricultural sector and support national food security,’ said Anin.
Meanwhile, WEF Managing Director, Chief Business Officer, and Head of Global Programming, Mirek Dušek, stated that WEF highly values its long-standing relationship with Indonesia.
He emphasised that WEF is ready to support Indonesia's transformation towards a new economy based on technology and sustainability.
‘The World Economic Forum has a long relationship with Indonesia. We are honoured to be hosted by the Chairman of Kadin and the entire board of Kadin Indonesia. This is an important partnership that we continue to build,’ Mr Dušek said.
He added that the meeting included discussions on energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and other frontier technologies, which will be pillars of Indonesia's future economic growth.
‘We discussed important areas such as energy, AI, and frontier technologies, and how WEF can support Indonesia, including through international forums such as the annual meeting in Davos next year,’ he added.
Meanwhile, regarding the WEF Indonesian CEO Dinner, Anin said that it was not only an event to pave the way for the Davos 2026 meeting, which is expected to be attended by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, but also a momentum to strengthen cooperation across sectors to collectively address global challenges.
“Antara sekarang dan Januari 2026, kami akan terus bekerja sama dengan banyak kelompok kerja. Tujuannya tetap sama: mendukung pemerintah, dan meletakkan fondasi ekonomi masa depan yang cerdas, inklusif, dan berdaya saing,” tandas Anin yang juga menjabat sebagai Ketua APEC Business Advisory Council (BAC) Indonesia sekaligus memimpin ASEAN BAC Indonesia.
