Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Jakarta Police Organise Cheap Bazaar

The DKI Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Jakarta Metro Police held a cheap bazaar to help people fulfil their basic needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.

"We understand that currently the prices of basic needs are soaring while stocks are running low in the market," said Chair of the DKI Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Diana Dewi at the Bazaar Kick Off Event held at Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday (3/4/2024).

In the bazaar, there are two thousand packages of staple food sold at Rp100 thousand. The contents include rice, cooking oil, chicken meat, flour, and so on.

According to Diana, this cheap bazaar will also be held in a number of places in Jakarta. "We hope Jakartans can celebrate Eid without panic buying," she said.

The bazaar is also expected to reduce inflation and stabilise the prices of basic necessities in the market. "We want to show that stocks of basic necessities are still available and sold at rational prices," he said.

Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto, appreciated the cheap bazaar activities that took place in his neighbourhood and invited residents to make the best use of this cheap bazaar. "This is very helpful for the community and a good momentum to get good quality basic needs at very affordable prices," he concluded.
