Jakarta – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) held a Joint Coordination Meeting of the Coordinating Deputy Chairpersons (WKUK) overseeing the Economic Affairs, Food, Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Export Development sectors under the theme “Strengthening National Competitiveness, Driving 8% Economic Growth” at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (September 3, 2026).

Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Novyan Bakrie said the four sectors were closely interconnected and could not be separated, as they are all linked to the sustainability of the supply chain, particularly at the regional level.

“Food has indeed become a major priority, particularly food self-sufficiency. Within Kadin, we also have a WKUK specifically overseeing food. Earlier, we discussed issues from various sectors,” Anin said.

In addition to food security, the meeting also focused on strengthening the broader economy, developing infrastructure and regional areas, as well as accelerating exports.

“First, of course, there is the broader economic aspect. But we also have a WKUK focusing on infrastructure and regional development, as well as the acceleration of exports. All of these are interconnected as part of one supply chain,” Anin said.

Anin emphasized that strengthening the supply chain could not be carried out solely at the national level. This is because a significant portion of Kadin members’ economic activities, particularly those operating in the food sector, are based in the regions.

“How can we ensure that Kadin members are supported not only at the national level, but also, and even more importantly in the food sector, in the regions where their economic activities are based?” Anin added.

Meanwhile, the keynote speaker at the Kadin Indonesia Joint Coordination Meeting of the Four Sectors, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, who attended representing Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, said the government is seeking Kadin’s support as a strategic partner in advancing the Asta Cita Food Self-Sufficiency agenda.

“The government strongly seeks Kadin’s support in building our food self-sufficiency,” Hanif said.

Hanif noted that government–Kadin collaboration is needed to develop a number of key food commodities, including sugarcane and sugar, dairy, salt, shallots, garlic, and soybeans.

“The government hopes that this Kadin coordination meeting will produce formulations that can be implemented, including through regulatory simplification and the provision of greater business certainty,” Hanif concluded.

In his remarks as Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Joint Coordination Meeting, Kadin Indonesia Coordinating Deputy Chairman for Economic Affairs Franky O. Widjaja said that synergy between Kadin and the business community must continue to be strengthened to support the achievement of the national economic growth target of 8 percent.

Franky said there are several areas that can be advanced through joint efforts to achieve the target, including investment development, export growth, food security, energy security, digitalization, and infrastructure development.

“Issues related to investment development, export growth, food security, energy security, digitalization, and infrastructure development must be translated into concrete collaboration,” Franky said.

According to Franky, such collaboration is essential to ensure that the synergy built among stakeholders can generate greater and stronger added value for the business community and the national economy.

In addition to strengthening synergy among business actors, Franky emphasized the importance of collaboration between the business community and the government.

“We greatly appreciate the various steps taken by the government to support the business community,” he said.

Going forward, Franky said several aspects need to be further strengthened, including the availability of competitively priced raw materials, regulatory policies, ease of licensing and doing business, investment and downstreaming support, as well as infrastructure and connectivity.

“Therefore, let us continue to maintain collaboration between the government and the institutions representing the business community to make Indonesia more advanced and competitive, and to achieve the national economic growth target of 8 percent,” Franky said.

Also attending the meeting were the other presiding leaders of the Joint Coordination Meeting: Kadin Indonesia Coordinating Deputy Chairman for Food Affairs Mulyadi Jayabaya, Coordinating Deputy Chairman for Infrastructure and Regional Development Carmelita Hartoto, and Coordinating Deputy Chairman for Export Development Juan Permata Adoe.

Also serving as speakers were Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Fajarini Puntodewi and Deputy for Coordination of Management and Business Development at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia Ferry Irawan.
