Kadin Holds National Coordination Meeting on Trade, Anindya Bakrie Highlights Inter-Provincial Synergy Toward Global Markets

Jakarta – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Trade convened its National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) under the theme “Optimizing Domestic and International Trade and Accelerating Strategic Investment Toward the 8% Economic Growth Target” at The Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan Hotel, South Jakarta, on Thursday (April 30, 2026).

In his opening remarks, Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie highlighted three key priorities: the importance of stable interprovincial trade, global market expansion, and strengthening investment as a driver of economic growth.

“First, we must ensure stability in domestic trade. All 38 provinces can trade with one another because they do not produce the same goods. This in itself can become a pillar of economic resilience,” said Anin, as he is commonly known.

On international trade, Anin expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts to open new market access amid global economic pressures.

“The government has worked hard to open markets—not only existing ones like the United States, but also the European Union, Canada, Eurasia, and others. We must continue to seize these opportunities, especially as they can generate foreign exchange earnings at a time when the rupiah, like other currencies, is under pressure,” he added.

Anin also underscored the achievement of investment realization in the first quarter of 2026, which reached IDR 500 trillion, as a key engine of trade.

“Lastly, investment. We know that investment in the first quarter grew significantly to IDR 500 trillion, and on average, investments amount to around IDR 1 billion. This means that regional stakeholders can be inspired to continue investing in order to drive economic growth. Ultimately, this all leads to trade. We invest to enable trade, which in turn generates other strengths such as domestic consumption,” Anin explained.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, who officially opened the Rakornas, emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the government and the business community to boost export performance and maintain domestic market growth.

“Today’s Rakornas focuses on the trade sector. We will continue strengthening collaboration between the government and the business community, including Kadin and all associations. First, how we can continue to increase exports across various commodities, and second, how we ensure that the domestic market continues to grow,” said Budi.

He added that this synergy will involve Kadin’s network down to the regional level to ensure the effective implementation of government programs.

“We have many programs that can be aligned with both the national Kadin and regional Kadin at the provincial and district/city levels. Together, we will boost our exports, enhance our competitiveness, and ensure that the domestic market continues to grow in line with our shared expectations,” Budi concluded.

As part of the Rakornas series, discussions were structured around three main pillars. The first pillar focused on strengthening the domestic market, accelerating strategic investment, and developing a downstream industrial ecosystem, featuring speakers including Director General of Domestic Trade Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan, Deputy for Downstreaming at BKPM Heldy Satrya Putera, President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia and Kadin Vice Chairman for Downstreaming Tony Wenas, and moderated by Kadin Vice Chairman for Macro–Micro Economic Policy Analysis, Aviliani.

The second pillar addressed export market expansion and global competitiveness, with speakers including Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi, LPEI Board Member Anwar Harsono, Chief Executive of ASTRA Foundation and Kadin Vice Chairman for Export Capacity Building and Financing Rahmat Samulo, and moderated by Executive Director of Kadin Indonesia Institute, Mulya Amri.

The third pillar highlighted the transformation of the trade ecosystem through accelerated digitalization, policy reform, and sustainable green investment, featuring Director General of Foreign Trade Tommy Ananda, ALFI Vice Chairman for Maritime and Ports Harry Sutanto, Kadin Vice Chairman for Industry Saleh Husin, and moderated by Vice Chairman of the Export Trade Committee Audist Subekti.
