Widiyanto said that Governor of South Papua Apolo Safanpo welcomed the process of establishing Kadin South Papua Province and encouraged the establishment of the definitive provincial Kadin to be carried out promptly.

“The Governor also encouraged the involvement of all components of the business community in South Papua to join the Kadin organization,” Widiyanto said.

In addition, all business associations in South Papua are expected to be accommodated and join Kadin South Papua Province, including the Indonesian National Association of Contractors (GAPEKNAS), the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI), the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), and the Indonesian National Association of Consultants (IKINDO).

Following the meeting, the activities continued with organizational consolidation across South Papua, which comprises four regencies: Merauke, Boven Digoel, Asmat, and Mappi.

Widiyanto added that the consolidation received support from the four regencies in South Papua. “As a concrete step, a committee for the declaration of the establishment of Kadin South Papua Province will soon be formed and will be led by Yeremia Mahuze,” Widiyanto said.

The declaration of Kadin South Papua Province is planned to take place this month, while the inauguration of its management is scheduled for October–November 2026.

South Papua Province is one of four new provinces resulting from the division of Papua Province established in 2022, along with Central Papua, Highland Papua, and Southwest Papua. South Papua is the 36th of Indonesia’s 38 provinces and was established under Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 14 of 2022 on the Establishment of South Papua Province.
