Business development and market complexity in the digital era require services that are efficient and effective in various ways including business dispute resolution. Currently, business dispute resolution is generally conducted through litigation and arbitration. In addition to these two processes, business dispute resolution can be done through mediation. As an umbrella for business actors, Kadin Indonesia is committed to carrying out its mandate, including in providing alternative business dispute resolution services in the form of mediation through the Kadin Indonesia Business Dispute Mediation Institute (LMSB-KI).

Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid said that the Kadin Indonesia Business Dispute Mediation Institute presents an alternative business dispute resolution service that prioritises efficiency, effectiveness and professionalism for the business world.

"The presence of the Kadin Indonesia Dispute Mediation Institute is an alternative solution to business and business dispute resolution. Through mediation, dispute resolution is expected to be done consensually, efficiently and peacefully," said Arsjad.

The Kadin Mediation Institute was initially established on 30 June 2011 in order to provide mediation services, conduct training for prospective mediators, accredit and certify mediators, and collaborate with national and international mediation institutions. In order to strengthen business dispute mediation services for businesses, especially through the adoption of technology and international networks, Kadin Indonesia currently presents certified mediators with business backgrounds.

Furthermore, the Management of Kadin Indonesia Business Dispute Mediation Institute is also a professional who works independently and is obliged to report to the Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, as the person in charge, if there are parties who do not implement the peace agreement issued by the institution.

Vice Chairman for Law and Human Rights of Kadin Indonesia, Dhaniswara K. Harjono, said there are two services offered by Kadin Indonesia's Business Dispute Mediation Institute, namely commercial mediation, pro bono mediation for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that have been curated according to standards, as well as coaching services in the form of mediator training and mediator certification and accreditation.

"All of these services are needed in Indonesia's highly dynamic business ecosystem. Kadin Indonesia's Business Dispute Mediation Institute can later be utilised by all Kadin members and Indonesian entrepreneurs, from small, medium, to large scale," said Dhaniswara.

To support the role of Kadin Indonesia's Business Dispute Mediation Institute in resolving business disputes efficiently and effectively, Kadin Indonesia will also collaborate with a number of strategic partners, ranging from business actors in the fields of MSMEs and cooperatives, industry, trade, as well as associations and associations of ministries to related institutions such as the Supreme Court, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Investment / BKPM, and others.
