Jakarta - Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakrie received an audience from the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, Olivier Zehnder, at Menara Kadin Indonesia on Monday (02/06/2025).

Anindya Novyan Bakrie or Anin as he is familiarly called said the meeting discussed strengthening bilateral economic relations as well as cooperation in the fields of innovation and vocational education.

‘We are talking about many things. One, there will be leaders from Switzerland who will be present at the end of September, early October. So we are preparing, as usual, a business forum to complement government-to-government relations,’ said Anin.

Anin emphasised that Switzerland is a country that is very advanced in innovation and vocational education. According to her, the technology developed by Switzerland is not only limited to mechanics, but also includes sustainability technology, such as hydro technology which is now a global focus.

‘And the most interesting one is vocational studies, where we can help to create jobs, because especially in the field of hospitality, or services for tourism, they are very strong,’ Anin added.

Meanwhile, Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN Olivier Zehnder welcomed the collaboration between the two countries, which he said should involve both the public and private sectors.

‘We are delighted to be working with Kadin, because the public and private sectors can only progress if they join hands. And in Indonesia, we are fortunate to be able to work together with Swiss industry as well as Indonesian industry representatives,’ Mr Zehnder said.

Zehnder also highlighted that Indonesia-Switzerland economic relations already have a strong foundation, both through CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement), investment protection agreements, and economic cooperation that has been established for more than 50 years.

‘We all believe that we should work together and build on what already exists to increase exchanges between the two countries. Thank you very much to Kadin for your support,’ Mr Zehnder said.
