Kadin Central Java Encourages Migrant Workers with Specific Skills to Take Advantage of Japan's SSW Program

The Central Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) welcomes the SSW (Specified Skilled Worker) program implemented by the Japanese government. This program can be an opportunity for workers from Central Java to work in Japan.

The SSW program covers 14 industrial fields that still have considerable labor needs, such as nursing, construction, hospitality, aviation, agriculture, food and beverage production, and others.

“The Central Java Kadin is committed to ensuring that workers from Central Java who have the required qualifications and skills can be maximally absorbed in the Japanese labor market,” said the Chairman of Kadin Central Java, Harry Nuryanto Soediro in a press statement quoted on Thursday (13/6/2024).

The support of Kadin Jateng was realized through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the SSW Program Recruitment Cooperation with Hinode Medical & Welfare Group.

In the LoI, Hinode Medical & Welfare Group expressed its willingness to absorb competent workers who have been prepared and trained by Kadin Jateng to be placed in companies in Japan.

The signing of the LoI was carried out by the Chairman of Kadin Jateng, Harry Nuryanto Soediro and President Director of Hinode Medical & Welfare Group, Takeshi Onishi in a series of working visits of the Central Java Provincial Government delegation with Kadin Jateng on Wednesday, June 13, 2024 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Osaka. The signing was witnessed by the Assistant for Economic Development of Central Java Province, Sujarwanto Dwiatmoko.

This cooperation is expected to not only open up job opportunities for Central Java labor in Japan, but also improve the quality of labor through comprehensive training and preparation. Thus, the Central Java workforce can meet the high standards set by industry in Japan, as well as improve their welfare through employment opportunities abroad.

This strategic step taken by Kadin Jateng is also expected to be an example for other regions in utilizing international employment opportunities, as well as increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian labor in the global arena.
