Surabaya – The East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin East Java) once again hosted the “Kadin East Java Golf Tournament 2026” at Bukit Darmo Golf Surabaya on Saturday (September 12, 2026).

Now in its sixth edition, the annual event served not only as a sporting competition but also as a platform to strengthen relationships, collaboration, and business opportunities among businesspeople and economic stakeholders in East Java.

Chairman of Kadin East Java Adik Dwi Putranto said the tournament was designed as a platform to bring together various elements of East Java’s economic ecosystem. Entrepreneurs, academics, government representatives, banks, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and foreign investment companies (PMA) attended and interacted in a more relaxed setting through the sport of golf.

“This is a platform for collaboration with all economic stakeholders in East Java. There are entrepreneurs, academics, government representatives, banks, SOEs, and foreign investment companies. Everyone is here to talk while playing golf, discuss economic developments, and explore how we can strengthen collaboration going forward,” Adik said.

He said the participation of various stakeholders gave the tournament added value beyond being merely a sporting competition. Several regional government leaders and government representatives attended alongside members of the Indonesian military and police, banking representatives, and major companies such as PT Freeport Indonesia. The informal interactions were expected to open new lines of communication that could lead to partnerships and business opportunities.

Adik added that this year’s tournament was organized in a more efficient format. In previous years, participants who completed their games in the morning had to return in the evening to attend the Gala Dinner. This year, the activities were integrated so participants could continue interacting and networking after the tournament into the evening.

In addition to serving as a networking platform, the Kadin East Java Golf Tournament also aims to promote sporting excellence in golf. Participants came from various age groups, including junior golfers. The involvement of young golfers is expected to contribute to athlete development and preparation for future sporting events.

“As this is a sport, achievement is also important. The stronger the participants, the better we can assess the level of their golfing ability for regional and national events,” Adik said.

On the occasion, Chairman of the East Java Provincial National Sports Committee (KONI) M. Nabil expressed his appreciation for Kadin East Java’s consistent efforts to organize the golf tournament over the years, which has continued to attract a large number of participants. He hoped the event would continue and eventually become part of the national calendar for Kadin golf activities.

“Or at the very least, we hope this initiative can inspire other provincial Kadin organizations, starting with the activities in East Java. As Chairman of KONI East Java, I certainly support this. Hopefully, there will be top athletes at this event whom we can recruit as athletes for our Regional Training Center (Puslatda) for the 2028 PON,” Nabil said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Kadin East Java Golf Tournament 2026, Stenven H. Lasawengen, said the tournament had received strong enthusiasm from the business community. In addition to participants from East Java, the organizers invited businesspeople from other regions, including Kalimantan, Sumatra, and Jakarta, making the event an opportunity to expand business networks.

The enthusiasm was reflected in the number of participants, with 148 golfers taking part, exceeding the initial quota of 144 participants.

“The interactions developed throughout the tournament also provided an opportunity for businesspeople to discuss various challenges facing the business sector, including obstacles related to rules and regulations,” he said.

The tournament offered total prizes worth more than Rp3 billion, including hole-in-one prizes of BYD electric cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, as well as various door prizes, including a BMW 2 Series.

On the competitive side, the Kadin East Java Golf Tournament 2026 became a showcase for some of the region’s top golfers. Aris Sutopo and Handy Wijaya emerged as the overall winners, claiming the tournament’s top titles.

Aris Sutopo delivered a strong performance throughout the competition to secure the Overall Best Gross (OBG) title. He recorded a total gross score of 76, with 41 strokes on the front nine and 35 on the back nine.

Meanwhile, the Overall Best Nett (OBN) title went to Handy Wijaya. The golfer, who has a handicap of 9, recorded a total gross score of 78, resulting in a final nett score of 69.

The competition in the Senior and Ladies categories was equally exciting, producing new champions. In the Senior category, Arif Suherman won Best Gross with a score of 80, while Ahmad Sapa’at claimed Best Nett with a nett score of 69. In the Ladies category, Andy Williams took home the Best Gross title with a score of 84, while Mutia Tapni secured Best Nett with a score of 74.
