Kadin Kalimantan Selatan Holds Corporate Compliance Training on Business and Human Rights, Supports a Transparent Ecosystem

Banjarmasin – The South Kalimantan Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Kalsel), in collaboration with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Human Rights of South Kalimantan Province, held a Business and Human Rights (BHR) Corporate Compliance Capacity-Building Program at the Rattan Inn Hotel in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, on Wednesday (February 4, 2026).

The event was organized to encourage business actors to comply with business and human rights principles as well as applicable laws and regulations.

The program was attended by representatives from companies, business associations, and related stakeholders, with the aim of strengthening the business community’s understanding of the importance of integrating human rights principles into daily business operations.

This capacity-building initiative forms part of the Respect, Protect, Fulfill, Enforce, and Promote Human Rights (P5HAM) program in the business sector, which seeks to enhance awareness among business actors to ensure that business activities are conducted while respecting and protecting human rights.

Through the program, the government and the business community aim to build a responsible, transparent, and sustainable business ecosystem while preventing potential human rights violations within supply chains and corporate operations.

Chair of the Intellectual Property Standing Committee (Komtap) of Kadin South Kalimantan Nita Rosita stated that business actors are not only expected to pursue profits but must also ensure that all business activities respect human rights and comply with prevailing legal provisions.

According to her, compliance with Business and Human Rights principles is closely linked to the protection of intellectual property rights and the long-term sustainability of businesses.

“If these principles are properly implemented, the business sector will gain greater trust and stronger competitiveness,” she said.
