Banjarbaru - The South Kalimantan Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Kalsel) distributed humanitarian assistance to residents affected by flooding in the Sungai Pinang Lama area, Sungai Tabuk Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, on Sunday (11 January 2026).

The assistance was delivered through the Kadin Kalsel Peduli program in response to flooding that has persisted for more than 20 days.

As part of the distribution, Kadin Kalsel provided 340 food aid packages and one ton of rice. The assistance was sourced from contributions by Kadin Kalsel members, business partners, and individual donors.

Chairwoman of Kadin Kalsel, Shinta Laksmi Dewi, stated that the aid reflects the presence and responsibility of the business community in times of humanitarian emergencies. She noted that the recurring floods in South Kalimantan have caused not only material losses but have also directly affected the daily lives of local residents.

“We want to ensure that the business community is not only active in the economic sector, but also present when communities are facing disasters,” she said.

She added that the spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity forms the foundation of the Kadin Kalsel Peduli initiative, particularly in responding to the recurrent flooding in the region.

The aid distribution involved Kadin officials and volunteers, with support from Borneo Rescue, to ensure that assistance reached affected residents directly on the ground.

The activity was also attended by Coordinating Vice Chairman for Organization, Law, Communication, and Economic Affairs of Kadin Kalsel, Edy Sudarmadi.
