Pekanbaru - The Riau Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Riau) has called for the ускорated recovery of a damaged jetty at the Tanjung Buton Industrial Estate (KITB) in Siak Regency, Riau, following damage caused by shell loading and unloading activities on Monday (January 5, 2026).

The statement was delivered by Vice Chairman for Logistics and Supply Chain of Kadin Riau, Yahya, on Wednesday (January 7, 2026).

According to Yahya, the damage to the jetty has had a significant impact on the smooth flow of logistics and goods distribution, particularly for businesses that rely on maritime and river transportation routes.

“Repair and recovery efforts must become a shared priority between the regional government, estate management, and other relevant stakeholders. Without swift action, the impact of this damage could potentially hinder investment and reduce the competitiveness of Riau’s industrial areas,” Yahya said.

Kadin Riau, he added, has also called for concrete measures, including the acceleration of technical assessments, the determination of financing schemes, and the timely and measurable implementation of repair works.

In addition, cross-sectoral coordination is considered essential to ensure that the jetty recovery process can proceed effectively without disrupting ongoing business activities.

“With the accelerated recovery of the jetty at KITB Siak, Kadin Riau hopes that the flow of goods and services will return to normal, investor confidence will be maintained, and the regional economy can move more optimally,” Yahya concluded.
