Jakarta – The North Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin North Sumatra) has officially established a partnership with the Mogilev Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry through the signing of an Agreement on Cooperation on the sidelines of the Indonesia–Belarus Business Forum and Business Matching at Hotel Aryaduta Menteng, Jakarta, on Tuesday (June 30, 2026).

Chairman of Kadin North Sumatra, Firsal Ferial Mutyara, said the partnership marks a strategic step toward expanding market access for North Sumatra's flagship products, particularly in Belarus and the broader Eastern European region.

"This cooperation opens wider opportunities for businesses in North Sumatra to enter international markets. We want our region's leading commodities to gain greater added value and broader market access, including in Belarus and other Eastern European countries," Firsal said.

According to Firsal, the collaboration extends beyond trade promotion to include investment, business promotion, technology transfer, and the strengthening of business networks between companies from both countries.

Under the agreement, both parties committed to developing cooperation across a range of strategic sectors, including digital technology, sustainable energy, agriculture, downstream palm oil processing, rubber, coffee, cocoa, fisheries, furniture, biomass, infrastructure, agricultural mechanization, fertilizers, and food security.

The partnership also aims to enhance the value of North Sumatra's key commodities while expanding export market access for plantation products through trade promotion, investment initiatives, and business matching activities.

"We do not want this partnership to end with the signing ceremony alone. It will be followed by concrete programs to connect business communities, create investment opportunities, and strengthen commercial ties between North Sumatra and Belarus," Firsal said.

In addition, both sides agreed to promote technology transfer, particularly in agricultural mechanization, farming equipment and machinery, transport vehicles, agricultural processing technologies, and fertilizer supply, with the objective of improving productivity in the agricultural and plantation sectors.

"The collaboration between Kadin North Sumatra and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce is expected to strengthen Indonesia–Belarus economic relations while creating broader opportunities for investment, trade, and technology transfer for the business community in North Sumatra," Firsal concluded.
