Jakarta - The Coordinating Office for the Sumatra Region (Korwil Sumatera) of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) was officially inaugurated on Monday, August 11, 2025. The office is located at Wisma Panbil, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
Affandi Udji, Chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial Kadin and also Head of the Inauguration Committee, stated that the establishment of the office marks a significant milestone in strengthening coordination and collaboration among the provincial Kadin branches across Sumatra.
“This Kadin Korwil Sumatera office is not just a workspace. It is a hub for coordination, communication, and collaboration aimed at enhancing synergy between regions. From here, we aim to advance regional economic potential while contributing to national economic growth,” said Affandi.
He emphasized that the presence of this office aligns with the vision of 'Indonesia Incorporated' initiated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and implemented by Kadin Indonesia.
“We want this office to become a shared home for Sumatra's business community—a place where ideas, opportunities, and partnerships converge to build regional competitiveness,” he added.
Johanes Kennedy Aritonang, Chairman of Kadin Korwil Sumatera II, highlighted the importance of this moment for regional economic development.
“Sumatra holds immense potential, from natural resources and industry to tourism. With this office in place, coordination will become more efficient, collaboration more focused, and the economic impact will be felt directly by the people,” Johanes remarked.
Meanwhile, Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko, Vice Chairman for Organizational Affairs at Kadin Indonesia, who represented Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie, expressed his appreciation for the successful inauguration.
“Kadin Indonesia will continue to support strategic initiatives at the regional level, including strengthening the capacity of Kadin Korwil Sumatera to become a driving force for economic growth in the region,” said Taufan.
Also attending the event were several board members of Kadin Indonesia, including Akhmad Ma’ruf Maulana, Vice Chairman for Special Economic Zones, Industrial Zones, and National Strategic Projects, and Chairman of Kadin for Riau Islands Province, Andi Yuslim Patawari, Vice Chairman for the Kalimantan Region, Thomas Jusman, Vice Chairman for Strategic Infrastructure Development and Rural and Transmigration Development, and Chairman of Kadin for Bangka Belitung Province, Pipin Moh. Saeful Arifin, Executive Director of Kadin Indonesia.
