Jakarta, July 14, 2023 - Today, Kadin Indonesia held a release ceremony for 36 Indonesian students for the Certified Internship Programme in Japan. This is in line with Kadin Indonesia's commitment to always make breakthroughs to prepare the skills and expertise of a superior and innovative workforce, both at home and abroad. This certified internship programme is a concrete step by Kadin Indonesia in supporting the Ministry of Education and Culture's policy and programme, namely Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka.
The release ceremony was attended by Kadin Indonesia Chairman Arsjad Rasjid, Deputy Chairman for Organisation, Law and Communication Yukki N. Hanafi, and Deputy Chairman for Vocational and Certification Adi Mahfudz. In addition, 23 students from the Institute of Transport and Logistics, 6 students from Surabaya State University, and 7 students from Marshal Suryadarma Aerospace University also attended. Of the interns, two were from the Hospitality department and the others from the Ground Handling department.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, expressed his appreciation for the hard work of all parties who contributed to ensuring the success of the programme, "The success of this programme cannot be separated from the dedication of all parties, including the Vocational and Certification Division of Kadin Indonesia and university partners who have participated in sending their best students. This programme is a form of synergy between the world of industry and education to improve the competence of human resources (HR) in accordance with current and future industry needs, through work experience opportunities abroad."
Japan was chosen as one of the locations for student internships due to significant changes in population demographics that have an impact on labour availability. By 2022, according to data from Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the working-age population in Japan will continue to decline by 556,000. Therefore, Japan needs additional productive labour to complete the demographic change. This is an opportunity for students to gain valuable experience as well as learning to develop relevant skills and expertise and contribute to meeting the country's labour needs.
"Students need to remember that during the internship programme, they are not only representatives of the campus, but also ambassadors of Indonesia abroad. We hope that students can run this valuable opportunity responsibly, exerting optimal effort, innovation, and creativity," Arsjad added.
One of the requirements for students who have the opportunity to participate in this programme is the ability to speak Japanese at least equivalent to level N4. Through this programme, interns are expected to be able to solve problems encountered in the workplace, so that they can have a positive impact on company performance.
One of the students participating in the internship programme, Safira Febrianti expressed her gratitude and hopes for this programme, "I am very grateful and appreciate the opportunity given to join the Certified Internship Programme in Japan. I hope that through this programme, the knowledge and learning we gain will form superior expertise and skills, so that later after returning from Japan, we can contribute to the industrial sector in Indonesia."
Kadin Indonesia is confident that the programme will provide significant benefits to the students, enriching their knowledge and skills, and expanding their opportunities to enter the workforce.
