Kadin Chairman Urges Finance Minister Suahasil to Maintain Economic Stability

Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) Anindya Novyan Bakrie attended the handover ceremony for the position of Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia from Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to Suahasil Nazara at the Ministry of Finance Office in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (September 15, 2026).

Following the ceremony, Anin, as he is affectionately known, said the business community hoped Suahasil would maintain economic stability while promoting national economic growth.

“So I think he (Suahasil) will focus on economic stability, which is number one. Then, of course, together with the business community, we hope he will also prioritize economic growth. And hopefully, we will also see market confidence improve,” Anin said.

According to Anin, the momentum of improving market confidence needs to be maintained, including through the credibility of the State Budget (APBN). He said the APBN serves as the state’s financial framework and is closely linked to the government’s fiscal policy.

“And one of the things that must be maintained and will certainly receive due attention is, of course, the credibility of the APBN itself. Because this is the state’s finances, and fiscal policy is here,” Anin said.

Anin said Kadin Indonesia and the business community were ready to support efforts to maintain stability while promoting economic growth. He also said he planned to meet with Suahasil soon to better understand the direction and vision of the policies to be implemented and to convey updates on conditions on the ground.

“I think as soon as possible, to understand his direction and vision, and to provide an update on what conditions are like on the ground,” Anin said.

Furthermore, Anin emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between economic stability and growth. He said economic growth requires government support, which can then be followed up by the business sector.

“Yes, I think he (Suahasil) already knows that what is important is maintaining economic stability while not forgetting growth. Because growth requires an injection from the government, although the business sector can then continue it,” Anin said.

In addition to government support, Anin said market confidence was also an important factor in driving investment and trade.

“And secondly, it requires market confidence so that they are also willing to invest, trade, maintain stability, and so on,” Anin concluded.
