Jakarta, June 5, 2026 – Danantara Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) carries out its mandate to strengthen the governance of strategic natural resource commodity exports in a measured, professional, and accountable manner.
Danantara Indonesia recognizes that the successful implementation of DSI’s mandate depends on business certainty: existing contracts that have already been signed may continue to be executed, provided that no under-invoicing occurs. Maintaining the trust of international trading partners and investors remains a top priority, and all DSI initiatives are designed to reinforce that confidence.
Transition Period: Strengthening Transparency Without Disruption
The Government has established a transition period commencing on June 1, 2026, which will be subject to periodic evaluation in accordance with prevailing regulations. During this phase, DSI’s primary focus is to strengthen reporting and monitoring systems through digitalization.
DSI is currently developing a digital platform to analyze transaction data for strategic natural resource commodity exports, enabling indications of under-invoicing to be identified objectively and based on data-driven assessments. This approach allows DSI to focus its attention on transactions that require further evaluation, while ensuring that the vast majority of transactions deemed reasonable and compliant can continue to proceed smoothly.
Contract Continuity and Confidentiality Assurance
DSI is fully committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of all commercial information and contractual terms obtained in the course of its activities. Existing contracts may continue to be executed as long as no under-invoicing is identified. Consequently, businesses that have adhered to sound export practices will not encounter obstacles in conducting their operations, thereby ensuring legal certainty and fostering a conducive business environment.
Post-Transition: Prudent, Fair, and Accountable Implementation
Following the transition period, DSI will prioritize the implementation of its intermediary role by facilitating and overseeing export distribution processes, while allowing commercial relationships between producers and their trading partners to continue uninterrupted.
Commencing implementation through this role is essential to ensuring that no disruption occurs in the export process of strategic natural resource commodities, while simultaneously achieving the primary objective of promoting fair, transparent, and under-invoicing-free trade. The execution of this role will be evaluated periodically and in a measurable manner, taking into account ecosystem readiness and progress toward achieving the intended objectives.
Prices for strategic natural resource commodities will be determined fairly based on methodologies that are transparent, accountable, and appropriate for each commodity. The objective is to prevent under-invoicing and ensure that recorded export values accurately reflect actual transactions.
These methodologies will incorporate reasonable adjustments for differences in quality, specifications, logistics costs, and contractual structures, ensuring that pricing fairness is assessed within its full commercial context. This approach closes opportunities for manipulation without imposing uniform treatment on transactions that are commercially distinct by nature.
Ensuring Export Continuity Through Stakeholder Engagement
Danantara Indonesia and DSI will continue to engage in dialogue with stakeholders to ensure that the implementation of DSI’s mandate remains consistent and does not disrupt export activities.
In carrying out its mandate, DSI remains firmly committed to the principles of good governance, transparency, accountability, and integrity, supported by commercial mechanisms that are fair, measurable, and aligned with sound business practices.
