JAKARTA – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, hosted a state luncheon to welcome the state visit of the Prime Minister (PM) of India, Narendra Modi, at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/7/2026). The luncheon was part of PM Modi's official state visit to Indonesia and reflected the close bond of friendship between the two nations.

The atmosphere of the luncheon was further enlivened by a showcase of the Indonesian archipelago's rich culinary heritage, alongside cultural performances that introduced Indonesia's diverse traditions to the Indian delegation. The warm interaction between the two delegations reflected a shared commitment to continually strengthen people-to-people ties.

The state luncheon took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere following a bilateral meeting between the two leaders at the Merdeka Palace. In his opening remarks, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the intensive and productive meeting between the two leaders.

“We have achieved meaningful progress. We are determined to translate this commitment into tangible results that benefit both our nations,” President Prabowo said.

Indonesia and India share historical bonds and a common identity that have been closely intertwined for centuries. According to Prabowo, Indonesia's culture, history, and civilizational journey have also been enriched by Hindu cultural influences and Indian civilization.

“History has brought our nations together. We share common values and a shared vision for the future,” the President concluded.
