Rosan Roeslani Reports to Prabowo Subianto: Indonesia Remains a Prime Destination for Foreign Investors

Press Release of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) of the Republic of Indonesia

Jakarta, April 21, 2026   Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, stated that global investor interest in Indonesia remains strong despite rising geopolitical and geo-economic tensions.

Rosan made the statement after meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, to report on the realization of national investment in the first quarter of 2026 at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (April 21).

He emphasized that global dynamics such as conflict and economic uncertainty have not dampened investor interest in Indonesia.

“Despite the current situation war, global geopolitics, and geo-economics investor interest in Indonesia remains very high and very strong,” Rosan said.

According to Rosan, this optimism is reflected in a series of working visits and meetings with global business leaders in various countries, including Singapore, China, South Korea, and Japan.

During these visits both in large forums and smaller meetings with President Prabowo it was conveyed that Indonesia continues to be a top investment destination.

Rosan explained that several investment commitments collected show significant figures. From Japan, potential investment is recorded at nearly USD 30 billion, while from South Korea it reaches around USD 10 billion. Investment from China is also said to remain high and consistent.

He added that this positive trend aligns with the national investment target, which is set to increase significantly over the next five years.

While total realized investment reached approximately IDR 9,100 trillion during the 2014–2024 period, the target for 2025-2029 has been raised to more than IDR 13,000 trillion.

“The increase is quite significant, but fortunately these targets remain achievable. We hope this momentum can be sustained,” he added.
