Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Chairman Arsjad Rasjid said that he discussed efforts to overcome future economic challenges when he visited the official residence of Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a halalbihalal event on Thursday evening (11/4/2024).

"There are also many economic challenges in the future. So how can Kadin and the government anticipate things together," Arsjad said.

He said that the economic challenges in the future are not easy, so even though the change of government will be held next October, economic issues must still be discussed from now on. According to him, domestic economic development must continue, especially to make local MSMEs upgrade.

"Because back again, (to overcome economic challenges) what we have to take care of is the development of our MSMEs," said Arsjad.

He said that it is important to protect domestic MSME products so that they do not lose competitiveness with foreign goods that are now flooding the domestic market. If not, he is worried that local MSME businesses will weaken and result in the loss of many jobs.

"The focus right now is on discussing economic issues," he said.

In addition to staying in touch with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, on the first and second days of Lebaran this year, Kadin Indonesia Chairman Arsjad Rasjid visited a number of high-ranking state officials, including Indonesian Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Indonesian Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, and Indonesian MPR Speaker Bambang Soesatyo.
