Womenpreneur Goes to Campus: Kadin Encourages Students to Pursue Entrepreneurship

Jakarta – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), in collaboration with the Indonesian Businesswomen Association (IWAPI), Bakrie University, and Shopee Indonesia, held the Womenpreneur Development Forum under the theme “Unlocking Digital Opportunity” at Bakrie University, Bakrie Tower Epicentrum, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (June 23, 2036). The event served as a platform for young people, particularly women, to enhance their capabilities and seize opportunities in the digital economy era.

Tatyana Sentani Sutara, Vice Chairwoman for Women and Child Empowerment at Kadin Indonesia, stated that the forum is part of the Womenpreneur Goes to Campus program, which aims to encourage young people to pursue entrepreneurship.

"Through our Womenpreneur Goes to Campus program, Kadin seeks to foster the creation of more women entrepreneurs. We visit universities to inspire young people to become entrepreneurs," said Tatyana.

Tatyana explained that women’s economic empowerment is one of Kadin Indonesia’s key priorities. Therefore, the majority of participants attending the forum were women.

According to Tatyana, women’s role in the digital economy continues to show positive growth. This is reflected in the increasing participation of women in various technology development and digitalization programs.

Through these initiatives, Kadin hopes that more women will be able to strengthen their capabilities, both as business owners and as drivers of economic growth amid the ongoing digital transformation.

"We want women to become more economically independent so that they can build greater resilience and influence. As we know, women-led MSMEs play a vital role in Indonesia’s economy. Therefore, this is something we must continue to encourage and strengthen," Tatyana concluded.

Bakrie University Vice Rector M. Tri Andika Kurniawan stated that entrepreneurship is one of the university’s key educational outcomes. He also emphasized the significant role women play in the national economy.

"We want our students to gain practical skills and experience to build businesses. Many entrepreneurial activities in Indonesia are driven by women," he said.

Also present at the event was Rifda Ammarina, Vice Chairwoman for Marketing, Promotion, Innovation, and MSME Product Development at Kadin Indonesia.
