ISF 2025: Indonesia Ready to Become a Key Player in the Global Green Economy

Jakarta, 1 October 2025 – Indonesia is ready to emerge as a key player in the global energy transition and sustainable development agenda. This was discussed at the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025, held in Jakarta. The Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM, in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Kadin Indonesia will hold ISF 2025 as a strategic step in government and private sector collaboration to promote sustainability issues.

The coordination meeting was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (Menko AHY), Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of BKPM Rosan P. Roeslani, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Bobby Gafur Umar, representing Kadin Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie. This coordination meeting emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure the success of this prestigious international forum.

‘From the perspective of infrastructure and regional development, we want to provide support and encourage the wider use of environmentally friendly technology and innovation. Thus, if this is well integrated, it can open up new job opportunities while addressing future challenges. We are ready to collaborate so that ISF 2025 is not only a successful event, but also brings real impact to the community,’ explained Coordinating Minister AHY.

ISF 2025 will be held on 10-11 October 2025 at the Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC) with the theme ‘Investing for a Resilient, Sustainable, and Prosperous World.’ This event will bring together stakeholders from various sectors, ranging from the government, state-owned enterprises, the private sector, academics, global investors, to international organisations. The series of events includes plenary sessions, thematic sessions, high-level dialogues, exhibitions, and a Science Corner featuring innovations from national universities such as UI, ITB, IPB, ITS, and UGM. One of the highlights is a high-level dialogue with 30 global CEOs facilitated by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

‘ISF 2025 is not just a discussion forum, but a stage for Indonesia to demonstrate its global leadership in downstreaming, renewable energy, and the green economy. This event also serves as a showcase for the strategic projects we will be offering, and we hope it will result in concrete cooperation that will have a real impact on future generations,’ said Minister Rosan.

As of 30 September 2025, more than 4,000 participants have registered, with 3.7% of them coming from abroad. The committee is targeting increased international participation, particularly from the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific regions, through cooperation with the Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the overseas Kadin network.

‘The business world is ready to be the driving force behind Indonesia's green transformation. Through ISF 2025, we want to demonstrate the private sector's readiness to collaborate with the government and global partners to deliver innovative solutions while opening up new business opportunities that are competitive and sustainable,’ said Bobby Gafur Umar.

In terms of content, 49 speakers have been confirmed to attend, comprising 17 national speakers and 32 international speakers. The pipeline is still being developed to strengthen the focus on clean energy, critical mineral downstreaming, green financing, and digital transformation. (*)
