Di Tengah Ketegangan Global, Anindya Bakrie Tegaskan ASEAN Tetap Stabil dan Terbuka Bagi Dunia Usaha

Kuala Lumpur – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, attended the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) 2025, held under the theme “Advancing Inclusivity & Sustainability in ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific Region” at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday (October 27, 2025).

In his keynote address, Anindya—popularly known as Anin—highlighted the increasingly complex global geopolitical landscape while reaffirming ASEAN’s position as a region of stability and resilience amid international tensions.

“The world in 2025 is witnessing the largest and deadliest war in Europe since 1945. The 2025 Global Peace Index records 59 active conflicts worldwide—the highest number since World War II,” said Anin, who also serves as Chairman of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Indonesia and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Indonesia.

Citing a report from the World Economic Forum (WEF), Anin noted that armed conflict has emerged as one of the top global risks in the near term. He stressed that while the Indo-Pacific has become a major driver of global economic growth, it is also the epicenter of intensifying geopolitical rivalry.

“Yet amid all these challenges, ASEAN remains a bright spot. The region grew by around 4.6% in 2024—well above the pace of advanced economies,” Anin emphasized.

He attributed ASEAN’s continued success to its openness and constructive engagement with global partners. Trade between ASEAN and both the United States and China, he said, each grew by more than 10% in 2024.

“ASEAN remains, and will continue to be, open for business. This forum enables ASEAN to maintain ownership of its regional agenda while reinforcing its role as an anchor of stability,” Anin explained.

Anin also highlighted Indonesia’s strong economic performance amid global uncertainty. From January to September 2025, Indonesia recorded USD 86.5 billion in investment, creating 1.9 million new jobs. Meanwhile, the country’s trade surplus from January to August reached USD 29.14 billion, supported by 7.72% export growth and an average economic growth rate of 5%.

He reaffirmed that Kadin Indonesia, as the government’s strategic partner, continues to play an active role in advancing national economic diplomacy—aligned with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision of “Indonesia Incorporated.”

“Kadin supports one-third of the President’s international engagements—whether through our own initiatives, invitations from partners, or direct assignments from the President. We are committed to being part of Indonesia’s journey toward shared prosperity and progress,” said Anin.

“Let us continue to work hand in hand to build an open, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific for all,” he concluded.

Also in attendance, Shinta W. Kamdani, Kadin Indonesia’s Vice Chair for Human Capital, Culture, and Sustainable Development, CEO of Sintesa Group, and ABAC Indonesia member, served as moderator in a panel discussion titled “Regional Cross-Border Sustainable Development Through the ASEAN Common Carbon Framework (ACCF), ASEAN Power Grid, and Cross-Border Payment.”

Meanwhile, Bernardino M. Vega, Kadin Indonesia’s Vice Chair for International Relations, CEO of AdaKami, and ASEAN-BAC Indonesia member, moderated a session on “Regional Economic Integration in ASEAN and the Pacific with Dialogue Partners to Advance Strategic Cooperation and Economic Resilience.”

The forum was also attended by George Marantika, Chair of Kadin Indonesia’s Australia–New Zealand Bilateral Committee; Christian Wanandi, Chair of Kadin Indonesia’s Malaysia Bilateral Committee; and John Riady, member of ASEAN-BAC Indonesia.
