Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, held a meeting with Indonesia's Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, at the Ministry of Trade headquarters in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (July 14, 2026).
The meeting focused on strengthening Indonesia's national export promotion efforts, including the launch of the We Buy From Indonesia book, which will serve as a showcase of Indonesian-made products and components for the global market.
Anindya, popularly known as Anin, said the meeting also sought the Ministry of Trade's support for the launch of the We Buy From Indonesia book, which is scheduled for August 8, 2026.
"The We Buy From Indonesia book features around 80 global companies, including Tesla, IKEA, and Uniqlo, that already source components from Indonesia," Anin said.
Anin explained that the We Buy From Indonesia book is published in three languages—Indonesian, English, and Mandarin—and contains information on international buyers as well as Indonesian manufacturers that are part of global supply chains.
According to Anin, the book aims to strengthen Indonesia's export promotion by encouraging more global companies to purchase Indonesian-made products and components.
He noted that Indonesia's exports currently amount to approximately US$300 billion, of which around US$240 billion comes from the manufacturing and industrial sectors, many of which involve Kadin Indonesia members.
"We are also collaborating with professors from Harvard University to validate the data, ensuring that it truly reflects not only major corporations but also products that may not yet be widely recognized," Anin said.
Anin added that the book is more than just a publication—it is a symbol of Indonesia's strengthened trade promotion efforts. Kadin Indonesia is also ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Trade to help develop micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) so they can enter export markets through cooperation with the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs) and Indonesia's overseas trade representative offices.
"I would like to thank the Minister of Trade because this is not merely a book—it is a symbol. It can even serve as a road to the Ministry of Trade's Trade Expo Indonesia," Anin said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso welcomed Kadin Indonesia's initiative to publish the We Buy From Indonesia book. He said the publication could become an important reference in strengthening Indonesia's export and investment promotion.
"This book is an excellent tool to support our exports. It includes all products manufactured in Indonesia, whether through foreign direct investment or domestic investment. It can serve as a valuable guide as we work to increase our exports," Budi said.
He added that the book will be used as promotional material by Indonesia's trade representatives abroad, including Indonesian embassies and ITPCs, and will also be introduced to prospective buyers and investors through Trade Expo Indonesia.
"We will continue promoting it together with Kadin, including at Trade Expo Indonesia. It provides another opportunity to showcase the Indonesian products featured in the book through Trade Expo Indonesia," Budi concluded.
Also attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri; Special Assistant to the President of the Republic of Indonesia and First Secretary of Kadin Indonesia Institute, Dirgayuza Setiawan; Executive Director of Kadin Indonesia, Pipin Moh. Saeful Arifin; and Executive Director of Kadin Indonesia Institute, Mulya Amri.
