Carbon Footprint and Climate Action Ecosystem

Kadin Indonesia positively assesses the development of public awareness and concern in calculating the carbon footprint generated from production processes, economic activities and daily activities. The efforts of the community including the business world to participate in GHG reduction efforts are expected and need to be encouraged to support the Government in fulfilling its commitments in the Paris Agreement to achieve net zero emissions in 2060 or earlier.

Kadin Indonesia through the Sustainable Environment Working Group (Pokja Sustainability) since last year has encouraged a number of priority programmes to support this commitment. Through cross-field cooperation and bodies in Kadin Indonesia as well as synergies with Regional Kadin and with Ministries / Institutions, efforts to encourage sustainability programmes continue to be rolled out.

On 3 August 2023, Kadin held a discussion event with the theme: "Carbon Footprint and Climate Action Ecosystem". The aims and objectives of organising this event are:
1. Identify concrete steps and programmes related to Climate Action that can be implemented to reduce carbon footprints at the individual, household, community, company, and/or national levels.
2. Evaluate the potential impact of each proposed measure or programme in reducing carbon emissions.
