Kadin attended a Public Hearing Meeting (RDPU) with Commission VIII of the House of Representatives regarding the Maternal and Child Welfare Bill on 29 March 2023. The main focus of this bill is on the first 1000 days of a child's life, which starts from a mother's pregnancy until the baby is about 2 years old. This period is the golden period for children that determines their future growth and development.
Kadin supports advocacy for the golden period of child growth and can correct stunting, so as to create a quality generation. The absence of specific legal rules for the welfare of mothers and their children at the age of 1000 days must be accommodated immediately. The drafting process of the bill is expected to be immediately decided into law, so that it can immediately play a role in strengthening Indonesian families through increased support for mothers and children, especially in their golden years.
